FULLDAY TOUR PANAMA CANAL, CAUSEWAY, CASCO VIEJO

9:00 AM: meeting with local driver-guide. The tour begins with Panama Canal, one of the most impressive feats of engineering in the world, at Miraflores visitor center on the locks of the Pacific Ocean side. The experience is amazing viewing the huge ships in transit during the operation process, meticulously described by a qualified technician. Depending on the schedule of the ships, the visit includes the viewing of a 3D film on the history of the Panama Canal lasting 45 minutes and narrated by the famous American actor Morgan Freeman.

The tour continues for a stop at viewpoint of Las Americas Bridge, built on 1963 and very popular as symbolic connection of North and South America. Head to Calzada de Amador, called Causeway, a peninsula that divides Panama City bay and the exit of Panama Canal into Pacific Ocean with a spectacular view of the city skyline. Lunch break at a local restaurant.

The tour ends in the Old City called Casco Viejo, a colonial neighborhood declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco and famous for its special architecture with French and Spanish influences. Among the main attractions: the Church of San José with the famous gold altar, the Cathedral Square, National Theater, Plaza de Francia, Paseo Las Bovedas and Plaza Bolivar.
